Yangcunqiao town in Jiande, a county-level city in Hangzhou, is well-known as China's strawberry town.
Located in the middle part of Jiande, the town covers an area of 133.2 square kilometers and administers 13 villages.
The town began mass planting strawberries in the 1980s. It now has more than 333 hectares of strawberry plantations.
More than 2,000 households are engaged in planting strawberries, accounting for 34 percent of the total number of households in the town. The strawberry plantation industry generates 700 million yuan ($108 million) in annual output.
In May 2020, Yangcunqiao town was included on the annual list for national top towns for the agricultural industry.
The town is now turning to digital technology to help with strawberry plantation and sales.
