Ciyunling Ancient Path on Yuhuang Mountain, one of the most convenient paths connecting West Lake and the Qiantang River, has been a pace of prosperous trade and tourism since its completion in 924 AD under the order of Qian Liu, founder of the Wuyue Kingdom (AD 907-978).
The path has witnessed the ups and downs of the surrounding hexagonal pavilions, cliff inscriptions, old Yuhuang Palace, and stone statues, including the only thousand-buddha stone niche in Hangzhou.
