A number of Hangzhou residents were recently invited by the organizing committee of the 19th Asian Games to visit some sporting venues and shared their thoughts on them.
At the Yinhu Sports Center in Fuyang district, the venue for shooting, archery and modern pentathlon matches, residents were first impressed by the east wall, which consists of over 34,000 aluminum alloy plates that recall the classic painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains.
They also tried their hands at archery, which was the first time for many of them.
"The venue takes advantage of the unique natural environment and advanced facilities. It also nicely blends the modern with the classical," said local resident Wang Liyuan.
At the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, commonly known as the "Big Lotus" for its shape, residents were introduced to various parts of the venue and its related functions, learning about how technologies will bring more friendliness and convenience to users.
"The venue looks amazing just from the photos and didn’t expecte that it would be even more awesome in person," said local resident Li Yingjun.
"This was my first time visiting the Hangzhou Asian Games venue and now I'm even more excited for the event," said Matthew Blazejewski from the United States.
