New relaxing businesses are blossoming in Hangzhou, local media outlets reported.
Jubensha, or Chinese murder mystery games, which are live-action role playing games, are no doubt the most popular form of entertainment in recent years. Chengyuan Culture, a jubensha company based in Hangzhou, has become an industrial leader by opening 70 such stores in over 30 cities across China.
Ma Chenting, director of the company, said Hangzhou has formed a complete industrial chain from content planning and store renovation to practical operation.
"Jubensha on one hand gets people away from their phones to engage in social activities, and on the other hand teaches them about different people's lives," Ma said.
Statistics show that in August alone, the online sales of jubensha on Meituan, China's largest online booking platform, have increased by 30 percent compared with last year.
