Zhejiang delegates to CPC national congress arrive in Beijing

Forty-nine delegates, representing more than 4.26 million Party members across Zhejiang province, arrived in the capital Beijing on the morning of Oct 14 to attend the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which is scheduled to open on Oct 16.
The delegates, coming from all walks of life, were nominated and recommended by electoral units at all levels in Zhejiang. Twenty-one of them are frontline workers, accounting for 42.86 percent of the total. There were 17 female delegates and two delegates from ethnic minorities, accounting for 34.69 percent and 4.08 percent of the total, respectively.
The delegates' ride was offered by Loong Air, a Hangzhou-based airline and the largest airline in Zhejiang province.
The National Congress is held twice a decade and convened by its Central Committee. It reviews the work of the CPC over the past five years by hearing and examining the reports of the Central Committee and the Central Commission for Disciplinary Inspection, sets roadmaps for both the Party and the country by discussing and deciding on major issues of the Party and revising the Party Constitution, and helps elect new CPC central leadership.
