Something practical can be aesthetically pleasing too. Here's some proof on the Huxi River in Huyuan township, Fuyang district, Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, where a dam in the shape of dragon scales is seen running across the body of water and has become one of the most popular destinations among tourists.
A line of female dragon dance performers from Aokou village also visited the dam on Feb 1, the 11th day of the first lunar month, which was four days ahead of the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival.
Standing on the beautiful Dingbu Bridge over the dam, the performers staged a magnificent dragon dance, bringing a festive atmosphere to the township and arousing the spectators' longing for lucid rivers and lush mountains.
Dingbu Bridge, also known as the piano bridge due to its keyboard-like stepping stones, is one of the oldest bridges of its kind in the world and adds to the unique charm of East China.
