The Brunei leg of the Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run attracted 1,300 participants to the Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei on the morning of March 12, local media outlets reported.

The 16th Asian Games Fun Run to promote Hangzhou 2022 was opened by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, president of the Brunei Olympic Committee.

The fun run comprised five categories: The 3.4-kilometer male and female open, a 2-km edition for boys and girls under the age of 12, and another 2-km edition for people with disabilities.

The top 10 people in each category received a medal presented by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah.

The event aimed to invest in the younger generation of Asian countries to improve society and sports in the region, foster awareness, encourage participation in sporting and cultural activities, and foster unity.

China and Brunei, as neighbors facing each other across the sea, have had close exchanges since ancient times. In recent years, the two countries have deepened cooperation in various fields and achieved fruitful results in sports and cultural exchanges.
