The Hangzhou Asian Games Fun Run, a series of activities aiming to get the public excited for the Games, has been held in Asian countries such as Maldives, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore and Vietnam over the past month.
The series has also attracted the attention of numerous foreign media outlets.
In Qatar, local media outlets such as the Gulf-Times and professional sports website Alkass Digital paid special attention to the event. In their coverage, Alkass Digital pointed out that the Fun Run was an important activity to welcome the Asian Games, symbolized friendly relations between countries, and helped spread joy and hope and promote friendship between the two peoples.
Vietnam has already hosted the Fun Run twice, but it still received extensive media coverage.
Dang Ha Viet, director of the Vietnam Sports Department, said that hosting the Fun Run twice was an honor for Vietnam and encouraged everyone to come together and spread athletic culture and spirit.
The Myanmar New Light, one of the country's three major newspapers, reported on March 10 on the latest leg of the Fun Run series, stating that the activity would further help the people of Myanmar understand the Hangzhou Asian Games.
