A cultural promotion campaign for the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games kicked off in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region on May 9, with over 300 officials, media reporters, and fitness-walking enthusiasts in attendance.

At the launching ceremony, Ningxia's culture and tourism department revealed subsidy policies for Zhejiang's tourism agencies designed to attract tourists to Ningxia and issued cultural and tourism consumption coupons targeting Zhejiang citizens.

Ningxia will take the Asian Games as an opportunity to deepen cooperation with Zhejiang in cultural exchange, national fitness and opening-up as well as to further promote Ningxia-featured brands.

The ceremony was followed by a promotional meeting at Ningxia Library, which invited representatives of the Hangzhou Asian Games organization committee and Ningxia's champion of the Asian Games to promote Asian Games culture and national fitness. The campaign also includes a promotional activity for an Asian-Games-themed promotion song and a tree-planting event in Zhongwei city.

The campaign is expected to help Ningxia locals better understand and engage in the Asian Games, enhance Ningxia and Zhejiang's cooperation on sports culture and Asian Games promotion, expand the Games' and Ningxia's influence in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and to showcase Ningxia's charm and tell its stories via the Asian Games platform.

The Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games, which are slated to open on Sept 23, has held a multi-media cultural promotional campaign in 10 cities, including Shanghai, Xi'an, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xiamen, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Beijing, with the aim of drawing wide public attention and participation in sports.
