July 6 marks the annual "Liangzhu Day" in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province. Over the last four years, the day has seen over 50 culture-themed activities held and attracted wide participation from the public.
Behind this event are the dedicated efforts of the Liangzhu Management Committee, which shoulders the responsibilities of site protection and utilization, research and communication, as well as inheritance and promotion.
The committee has organized performances with the theme "Liangzhu, Zhejiang, and the World" as part of a series of activities entitled Liangzhu Embraces the Spotlight, attracting over 4 million online and offline viewers from home and abroad. Additionally, the symphony Liangzhu has been performed in seven countries and regions, including Portugal, Spain, and Colombia.
The committee has also made innovations in the way it protects and exhibits culture, such as establishing a complete exhibition complex consisting of the Liangzhu Museum, Liangzhu Ancient City Site Park, Yaoshan Site Park, and Laohuling Site Park.
The Liangzhu site, together with West Lake and the Grand Canal, has launched a tourism route called the "Three World Heritage Sites of Hangzhou." It has also leveraged the influence of travel agencies in the Yangtze River Delta region, organizing activities to further boost cultural tourism.
Moreover, the committee has developed over 700 cultural and creative products inspired by Liangzhu culture, continuously enriching the cultural tourism offerings in Liangzhu.
Through these endeavors, the committee is not only protecting the cultural heritage but also actively promoting its utilization. Liangzhu is gradually becoming a cultural symbol that touches the hearts of people from all walks of life, both in China and around the world.
