The first batch of 220 city-level civilization stations for the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games was launched in Hangzhou of Zhejiang province on Aug 3.
Selected from among all 3,000 volunteer service stations in Hangzhou, the stations are designed to focus on seven key areas: the Asian Games venues and the surrounding Asian Games village, transportation hubs such as airports and train stations, key road sections along subway stations and bus stops, large public spaces, popular scenic spots, characteristic blocks and cultural exchange spaces. They will serve key groups such as spectators, tourists, athletes and media representatives, taking volunteer services to a new level.
Wang Wenshuo, deputy head of the Hangzhou publicity department, delivered a speech at the launch ceremony and called on Party members, institutions, enterprises and volunteer teams to shoulder their mission, share responsibility for the Asian Games and showcase civility.
During the event, volunteers were wearing uniforms with the logo HZ, which showcased the internationalization of Hangzhou's volunteer services, corresponded to the Asian Games slogan and embodied the spirit of "dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress". Representatives from 13 districts and scenic areas introduced their service stations.
The map for the stations was also released onsite. This heavyweight application allows users to find the specific locations of the 220 civilization stations, reserve volunteer service sessions and accumulate service hours for point redemption.
