A new Post Coffee, the coffee brand of State-owned postal service China Post, recently opened in Hangzhou, following its debut in Xiamen in February 2022 and stores in more than 50 cities, such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Tianjin.
Keen on staying relevant, especially among younger consumers, the venture has combined the charm of retro postal services with contemporary coffee culture.
The cafe exudes a simple and tidy decor, accentuated by stamp samples that accompany customers' coffee cups. It offers an extensive menu of over 20 beverages in various cup sizes, ranging from 12.8 yuan ($1.77) to 25.8 yuan, covering classics like the Americano and Latte and unique beverages and seasonal offerings such as gold osmanthus pineapple tea and an osmanthus wine latte.
Beyond its coffee offerings, the cafe displays a postcard-printing machine resembling a mailbox. Customers can select images for printing and even record a voice message by scanning the QR code on the box.
The cafe's nostalgic ambiance is brimming with retro-themed products, including green bicycles, small truck models, computer bags, key chains, and pins. Stamp enthusiasts can enjoy DIY stamping, along with pre-stamped postcards, providing a unique touch to messages that can be sent or kept as keepsakes.
