Hangzhou's Binjiang district opened Elite Salon and Talent Activity Week on Nov 20, local media outlets reported.

In support of innovation and entrepreneurship, Binjiang issued 15 new policies for industries involved in the digital economy, which include support for core technological breakthroughs, infrastructure, and independent development.

For instance, companies are encouraged to focus on key areas for breakthroughs. Those with projects gaining national or provincial recognition will receive a maximum of 20 million yuan ($2.8 million) in subsidies. Companies that invest in independent R7D and achieve actual sales can receive a maximum subsidy of 50 million yuan.

On the same day, the China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Incubation Base (Hangzhou), another national incubation base, was established in Binjiang.

As a well-known youth hub in Zhejiang province, Binjiang has attracted over 58,000 college graduates this year, ranking first in number of undergraduates and postgraduates.

In recent years, Binjiang has been dedicated to building a global talent pool and improving the environment for talent. The district is currently home to more than 470,000 talents, with over 20,000 high-caliber talents.

This year's highly anticipated Hangzhou Asian Games served as a grand stage for showcasing the achievements of talent and enterprises in Binjiang. Cutting-edge innovations, such as robotic dogs and glass-free 3D screens during the opening ceremony, have received widespread attention.
