The Zhejiang intangible cultural heritage exhibition of New Year customs opened at the Zhejiang Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum on Feb 2.

The exhibition focuses on New Year customs from Little New Year to the Lantern Festival. It features distinct intangible cultural heritage items and exhibits from various places in Zhejiang that are closely related to the holiday.

The exhibition is divided into four sections - Welcoming the Dragon, Joyful Little New Year, Reunion Night on New Year's Eve, and Lantern Festival and Dragon Lantern Celebration, including various Zhejiang intangible cultural heritage items such as Hangzhou woodblock printing techniques, woodblock watermarking techniques, wood movable-type printing techniques, Shaoxing blessings, and fire refining.

Special events such as traditional food experiences and drama performances from Yueqing, a county-level city administered by Wenzhou in southern Zhejiang, and other activities will be set up. Visitors can enjoy dramas, taste delicious food, and purchase festive goods.

Additionally, on the fourth floor of the museum, the Intangible Heritage Documentation and Digital Center will host a live broadcast of Zhejiang's New Year customs, while a film about the craftsmanship of Yueqing jewelry dragons will be played. Activities such as a search for museum's Yueqing collection will also be held, teaching visitors more about the museum's exhibits.

The museum has also planned a series of exploration and learning activities for young people, which include hands-on courses on Yueqing rice sculpture and fine-line paper cutting.

The series of events will run until the Dragon Head-Raising Festival, the second day of the second lunar month, which falls on March 11 this year.
