The Hangzhou-Haining Intercity Railway has commenced its westward extension with the initiation of the greening migration at Wenzheng Street Station.

This marks the beginning of the West Extension Project, a significant step forward in railroad infrastructure development.

Spanning approximately 1.02 kilometers, the project begins at the planned Wenzheng Street Railway Station and terminates at Linpingnan High-Speed Railway Station. The new railway, laid underground, includes a new Wenzheng Street Railway Station connecting to Hangzhou Metro Line 18, with a speed limit of 120 km per hour.

A key feature of the extension is the seamless transfer at Wenzheng Street Railway Station, facilitating connectivity between the Hangzhou-Haining Intercity Railway and Hangzhou Metro Line 18. The expansion of the intercity railway network aims to improve connectivity within the Hangzhou metropolitan area, enhancing accessibility and reducing travel time between Haining and Hangzhou.
