An express shuttle train from Xiaoshan International Airport Station to West Lake Cultural Square Station has recently been added to Metro Line 1 after the last train.

The shuttle is meant to serve late-night travelers returning from the airport to downtown Hangzhou due to the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of a section of Metro Line 19.

The shuttle train only stops at Hangzhoudong Railway Station, so many netizens have dubbed the new train the "express late-night subway".

The express subway begins operating at 22:30, with a total of five trains departing at 22:38, 22:47, 22:56, 23:05, and 23:14 from Xiaoshan International Airport Station. The last late-night subway arrives at the final destination, West Lake Cultural Square Station, at 23:57.

The express train will only operate from March 6 to 30, after which the closed section of Metro Line 19 will reopen.
