In recent days, Paul Tiberghien from France has been busy shopping for Chinese specialties. In May, he will travel to France, taking the opportunity to visit his family, which he hasn't seen for a long time.

Having lived in Hangzhou for seven years, Tiberghien can't wait to share the beauty he has discovered in the city with his family.

Tiberghien works for Swiss multinational company Staubli Group as the general manager of the fluid connectors supply chain for the Chinese region at the group's Hangzhou branch.

In 2017, he moved to China as part of a work relocation. During the first few years of working and living in Hangzhou, he devoted much energy to understanding the Chinese people and how they think, striving to overcome the language and cultural barriers. Literature became a way for him to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture.

"In addition, our family loves hiking. In Hangzhou, if I want to go hiking, I can just grab a backpack and ride a bicycle to West Lake. Being able to get so close to nature right in the city center is what's great about Hangzhou," Tiberghien said.

"Moreover, Hangzhou is a fast-paced and innovative city. People dare to think and act outside the box, which drives the city's renewal," he said. Over the years, more and more CBDs and subway lines have been created, reflecting the city's pace of development.

"Hangzhou is also a city of digital economy and technology. This is why our headquarters continuously invests in the Chinese market, and makes government services highly convenient," Tiberghien said.

"Memories of Jiangnan, most memorable is Hangzhou," is a favorite Chinese poem of Tiberghien. He also believes that the city is a place where both companies and individuals can thrive.
