The 20th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, running from May 29 to June 2 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, offers a myriad of immersive experiences for visitors, making it a prime destination for animation fans.
Among the bustling attractions, the booth of Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics stands out. It is showcasing its small quadruped robot known as Go2, which is adorned in traditional images such as dancing lions, black dogs and white lions.
Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association has set up a sprawling Hong Kong Pavilion at the festival spanning over 480 square meters. Not only does the pavilion have 30 participating companies displaying more than 20 intellectual properties (IPs) and dozens of creative products, it also includes classic Hong Kong comic character cosplays, giant sculptures, interactive sessions, and gaming experiences, engaging visitors in an immersive experience.
The Hangzhou public security bureau brought a police-themed animated IP to the festival, along with a robotic dog of Asian Games fame. A spokesperson of the bureau said that besides performing cute actions, the robotic dog, equipped with a camera, primarily performs patrol duties in law enforcement operations.
