Hangzhou's High-Tech Zone (Binjiang district) held its third e-commerce livestream featuring innovative local products on Aug 29. This time, a tidal power plant developed by a local company took center stage, bringing cutting-edge technology into the public eye.
Lin Dong, chief engineer at the Zhejiang LHD Marine Tidal Energy Engineering Research Center, explained that the tidal power plant, currently located in Zhoushan, harnesses energy from tidal movements to generate electricity. The plant can produce over 2 million kilowatt-hours annually, powering 200,000 island households.
The livestream was part of Binjiang's effort to promote its talent development initiatives, including the "5050 Plan," which has supported numerous high-tech projects. The livestream attracted over 750,000 viewers, with plans to feature more tech products like AI models and smart robots in future sessions.
