Alibaba honored outstanding contribution at 2024 World Internet Conference

Hangzhou-based tech tycoon Alibaba was honored with a Distinguished Contribution Award during the 2024 World Internet Conference, also known as the Wuzhen Summit, on Nov 20.
This newly established award recognizes individuals and enterprises who have made exceptional contributions to the global internet landscape. The individual category highlights role models who have advanced internet development, inspiring more talents to join the effort.
In the enterprise category, awards were given in three subcategories: social contribution, innovation breakthrough, and growth potential, encouraging responsibility, innovation, and growth within the internet industry. Other awardees include Honor, China Telecom Corporation, Tencent, and iFlytek.
This year's Wuzhen Summit features 24 sub-forums covering topics such as global development initiatives, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence innovation and governance.
In response to the growing focus on AI, the summit introduced a dedicated AI section. Discussions center on topics like AI innovation, governance, and empowering productivity, aiming to foster global collaboration, deepen governance, and enhance AI's contributions to humanity.
