Liangzhu Museum is set to launch a series of distinctive exhibitions celebrating cultural dialogue across civilizations, local media outlets reported.
A major showcase of Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) jade artifacts is scheduled to open next month, featuring approximately 180 exquisite pieces from renowned archaeological sites, including the Nanyue King's Mausoleum in Guangzhou and the Shizi Mountain Chu King's Tomb in Xuzhou.
The museum's curatorial team has been traveling nationwide to gather materials and photographs to ensure the exhibition's success. "Our focus is on establishing Liangzhu culture as the core of China’s 5,000-year civilization," said Xu Tianjin, the museum's director.
In addition to the exhibit, the museum is also expanding its global collaborations. In 2024, a planned exhibition on ancient Greece will explore the millennia-old evolution of Greek civilization, followed by an original exhibition on ancient Egypt, underscoring its historical ties with Liangzhu.
These exhibitions are envisioned as dialogues between civilizations, offering visitors a deeper understanding of Liangzhu's influence within China's historical timeline and its resonance with global cultures.
