The Echoes of Liangzhu concert, a key event of the 2nd Liangzhu Forum, captivated audiences at the Tiaoxi Grand Theater in Hangzhou on Nov 25. Decorated with symbols and motifs of Liangzhu culture, the venue set the stage for a performance blending traditional Chinese instruments with global musical styles, showing the universal language of music.
The evening featured Chinese instruments like the xun, pipa, and guqin, delivering compositions inspired by Liangzhu history and culture and featuring themes of nature and history. Internationally acclaimed pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi praised the event, noting the fusion of Eastern and Western music as a testament to the forum's spirit of cultural exchange.
Performed by the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music's orchestra, including award-winning artists and rising talents, the concert presented 10 pieces highlighting China's ancient heritage and modern vibrancy.
The performance concluded with Everlasting Power, leaving the audience in awe and reinforcing the significance of cultural exchange. As applause filled the theater, a sense of shared human creativity resounded throughout.
