Expats in Hangzhou can now ride the city's iconic red shared bikes, thanks to Zhao Kai, the deputy captain at the Hangzhou immigration management bureau.

Zhao spearheaded the development of "AI Hangzhou," a one-stop digital platform launched in September, integrating services like transportation, healthcare, and tourism for expats.

With over a decade in immigration services, Zhao emphasizes transitioning from management to personalized services, helping foreigners navigate employment, entrepreneurship, and cultural integration. He also played a key role in establishing the Hangzhou Immigration Service Center, which offers services related to career training, policy guidance, and local involvement.

Zhao's efforts include enabling expats to access shared bikes through platform upgrades, resulting in over 3,000 new users and 30,000 rides within three months.

Looking ahead, he aims to expand "AI Hangzhou" with features like cross-border e-commerce and tourism services, fostering a welcoming environment for Hangzhou's growing international community.
