At the Third Session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on Jan 13, Ge Jihong – a CPPCC member and the dean of the School of Cultural Creativity and Management at the Communication University of Zhejiang – shared his thoughts on his 13-year journey of public service.

Known for his impactful proposals, Ge attributed his enthusiasm to two core values: Love and responsibility.

"Love gets you started; responsibility keeps you going," Ge remarked during the "Members' Passage" media session.

From glowing zebra crossings for safer nighttime pedestrian traffic to bilingual bus stop announcements in local dialects, Ge's ideas often stem from everyday observations.

Last year, he conducted field research on 100 small businesses, culminating in proposals to support local shops. His efforts led to the launch of the "Big Enterprises Help Small Shops" initiative, earning praise from shopkeepers and officials alike.

"Being a CPPCC member isn't just a title – it's a commitment in thought and action," Ge said.
