The "Hangzhou Six Tigers", a collective of innovative tech companies – based in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province – have captured attention at Zhejiang's provincial legislative meetings.

Game Science's Black Myth: Wukong was featured in the government work report, sparking discussions about the potential of these cutting-edge enterprises to shape the future.

Referred to as the "Mysterious Oriental Force", companies like Game Science, DeepSeek, Unitree, BrainCo, Deep Robotics and ManyCore are said to really embody groundbreaking innovation in AI and frontier technologies.

The term has gained international traction, prompting questions on how Zhejiang can secure its place in the global tech race over the next two decades.

Experts credit strong government backing, with initiatives like AI hubs and the WanKa supercomputing cluster positioning Hangzhou as a global tech leader. Wang Jian, chief scientist at Zhijiang Laboratory, emphasized that AI was the "ticket to the next 20 years" in the global tech race.

Lawmakers and political advisors suggest focusing on vertical AI models and industrial scaling to maintain the momentum. Jin Yin, a senior researcher, stressed the importance of leveraging Zhejiang's industrial clusters to create model enterprises and products that lead the market.

The rise of the "Six Tigers" is also said to demonstrate the importance of long-term commitment. Many of these companies emerged after years of incubation with local government support.

"Their success reflects Zhejiang's persistence in tackling challenging but impactful goals," said Kong Chunhao, head of the Hangzhou Chengxi Sci-Tech Innovation Corridor.

As Hangzhou's innovation ecosystem continues to grow, its ambition to lead the global tech stage remains firmly in focus. The collective vision to secure the next two decades is widely said to be just beginning.
