Zhejiang University of Technology's International College hosted a festive spring fair on Jan 17 at its Pingfeng Campus in Hangzhou – capital of East China's Zhejiang province.
The event welcomed international students from around the globe to immerse themselves in Chinese New Year traditions.
From learning their zodiac signs to crafting dumplings and making tangyuan or sweet glutinous rice balls, students explored various aspects of Chinese New Year customs – creating memorable experiences in the festive atmosphere.

They also enthusiastically participated in activities such as writing the character "福" or blessing, paper-cutting, pitch-pot games, sugar painting and lantern-making. The hands-on experiences provided a great insight into the rich cultural heritage of China.
This year, over 300 expat students are expected to stay in Hangzhou to celebrate the Chinese New Year, making such initiatives a meaningful way to connect them with local culture.
