A festive reunion dinner brought together local residents and international friends to celebrate Chinese New Year traditions at the Toupeng community of Yipeng subdistrict in Qiantang district.

Together, they decorated the surround area, tasted iconic dishes and really got involved in Chinese New Year traditions.

One of the highlights was a traditional banquet originating from Qiantang's reclaimed sandy lands – featuring dishes ranging from tender braised pork to tangy sour fish and flavorful farmhouse delicacies, each brimming with nostalgia and cultural significance.

"This is my first time trying authentic Qiantang food and every dish has such a unique flavor," one visitor said. "It reminds me of the warmth of family gatherings in South Korea".

A community staff member said everyone had a great time. "Hangzhou is an inclusive and welcoming city. By hosting events like this, we hope to foster deeper connections and create a sense of home for everyone living here," he said.

The warm celebration not only bridged cultures, but also highlighted the enduring charm of Hangzhou as a city of tradition, openness and shared joy.
