The 2025 Hangzhou-Taiwan Youth Sports Exchange Season kicked off on Feb 8 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, bringing together over 200 young basketball players from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Through intense matches and teamwork, the event fostered friendship and cultural exchange.

In a thrilling showdown, Taipei Municipal Jinhua Junior High School faced off against Hangzhou No 4 High School in a match filled with fast-paced action and roaring applause. For many Taiwan players, it was their first time competing on the Chinese mainland, offering them valuable insights into different playing styles and techniques. After days of competition, Hangzhou No 4 High School claimed the championship, with Taipei Municipal Jinhua Junior High School finishing as the runner-up.

The event was more than just a competition – it served as a bridge for deeper connections. "Sports go beyond competition – they're about engagement and friendship," said an event organizer. Taiwan coach Kuo Tsung-Ju echoed this sentiment, expressing hopes for more exchanges and even a future sports community for Taiwan athletes in Hangzhou.

Following the tournament, the Taiwan players will explore Hangzhou, experiencing its rich culture and scenic beauty firsthand.
