Hangzhou's AI industry is surging, with local enterprises accounting for over 70 percent of Zhejiang's AI sector profits, which surpassed 570 billion yuan ($78 billion) last year. The city's complete AI ecosystem is fostering innovation, commercial applications, and the rise of homegrown AI unicorns.

From AI-driven virtual hosts and smart tour guides to cutting-edge humanoid robots, Hangzhou's AI advancements are transforming daily life.

Companies like DeepSeek, Unitree Robotics, and WeDoctor lead breakthroughs in AI models, robotics, and healthcare applications. while Game Science's release of Black Myth: Wukong highlighted AI's role in gaming.

Hangzhou's success stems from a clear AI blueprint, bolstered by government initiatives and a strong digital economy. The city hosts 569 AI firms, accounting for a majority of Zhejiang's AI sector growth. However, challenges remain, including R&D investment gaps, AI talent costs, and competition in lower-end applications.

As global AI competition intensifies, Hangzhou aims to shift from business model innovation to deep-tech breakthroughs, solidifying its status as China's "AI City".
