Zhejiang, Hong Kong and Macao boosted their educational collaboration on Feb 25 as 15 pairs of schools – including Hangzhou Foreign Languages School and Hong Kong's St. Paul's College – signed sister school agreements in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province.

The signing ceremony was part of the Zhejiang-Hong Kong-Macao Sister School Exchange Conference, which was hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and involved the participation of officials and over 80 educators.

The event focused on AI-driven education and STEAM – science, technology, engineering, arts and maths – learning.

Shu Peidong, deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, highlighted the province's innovation-driven growth and encouraged schools to bolster their cooperation and development of talent.

To date, Zhejiang has established 289 sister school partnerships with Hong Kong and Macao, launching wide-ranging exchange programs.

Over 1,800 Hong Kong students visited Zhejiang in 2024 under educational collaboration initiatives.
