Carrying with them the hopes and expectations of the people, Hangzhou's National People's Congress deputies and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference have arrived in Beijing for the annual two sessions.
This year marks the final year of the 14th Five-Year (2021-25) Plan and the planning phase for the 15th Five-Year (2026-30) Plan.
Deputies and members have conducted in-depth research into key development issues and public concerns, preparing proposals and suggestions.
NPC deputy Luo Weihong has focused on boosting innovation and financial support for startups, proposing a tech-finance system led by business enterprises. Zhou Di, another NPC deputy, aims to enhance intellectual property protection for high-tech firms.
Meanwhile, CPPCC member Ding Lieming will advocate policies that foster innovation in the pharmaceuticals sector.
Grassroots issues are also taking center stage. NPC deputy Cao Chen plans to share Hangzhou's "Xiaoyu Mantou" community initiative, which aids elderly residents. Fellow deputy Liu Ting will push for improved senior-friendly home renovations. Elsewhere, CPPCC member Cui Wei is set to propose measures that will improve public fitness facilities.
United in their purpose and determination, Hangzhou's deputies and members are bringing fresh ideas to the national stage, helping to contribute to China's development blueprint.
