Automaking giant Geely – based in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province – announced its full-scale AI integration on March 3, as it launched a unified smart driving system.

The launch is said to position Geely as the world's only car manufacturer to achieve end-to-end AI deployment across all domains, from vehicle architecture to production and services.

Geely's vision is to build AI-powered cars using AI-driven architecture. The company has embedded AI into every aspect of its smart vehicles – including powertrains, chassis and in-cabin experiences.

Moreover, AI is understood to play a key role in its R&D, manufacturing and after-sales services, creating a seamless intelligent ecosystem.

The newly launched smart driving system integrates cutting-edge AI technologies, such as end-to-end deep learning models, vision-language models and world models, offering a five-tiered intelligent mobility solution.

Most notably, it includes the industry's first mass-production L3-level autonomous driving system, which will debut in Geely Galaxy's upcoming models.

To further its AI ambitions, the manufacturer recently signed a joint venture agreement with key partners, including Qianli Technology and Lotus Robotics. With Tsinghua University alumnus and AI expert Yin Qi leading the AI model development, Geely is aiming to accelerate the commercialization of smart driving solutions.

Industry observers say that as AI reshapes the automotive landscape, Geely's bold move underscores China's ambition to lead the intelligent mobility revolution. By fully embracing AI, Geely is not just keeping pace – it is redefining the future of driving.
