Artificial intelligence has been a trending topic at this year's two sessions, with DeepSeek gaining national attention. Government officials praised its open-source approach, emphasizing AI's role in driving global innovation.
The government work report calls for advancing the AI+ initiative, integrating digital technology with manufacturing and market strengths. Key priorities include AI-driven industrial applications, smart devices and large-scale scenario development across sectors like education, healthcare and low-altitude economy.
Industry leaders like Wensli Group, a Hangzhou-based silk producer, are embracing the technology and have developed AI-powered design models. Chint and Transfar, two leading manufacturers from Hangzhou, are integrating AI into energy logistics and manufacturing. Experts predict AI could soon become a general education subject, with applications expanding into research, governance, and the arts.
While promoting AI's benefits, policymakers also stress the need for stronger regulations to address ethical and security challenges. China has introduced a Global AI Governance Initiative, advocating responsible AI development worldwide.
