A strawberry farm in Tangqi village, Hangzhou has gone viral with its spectacular "strawberry waterfall".

That's because the lofty strawberries dangle from on high in a series of overlapping hanging cultivation trays – creating a ruby red cascade of vibrant color – instead of growing in the ground as usual.

The innovative setup has drawn crowds, turning the farm into a must-visit spring destination.

The high-tech hanging system – controlled via a smartphone app – allows farmers to adjust the height of the strawberry racks, optimizing space and yield.

"Each mu (0.067 hectares) now produces 2,000 kilograms, far more than traditional planting," said farm owner Gu Xiaoming.

The farm, which integrates agriculture with tourism, offers strawberry picking, local delicacies and family-friendly activities like feeding animals and lakeside picnics. On weekends, over 1,000 visitors flock to the site, with ticket demand surging.

The project, a collaboration between Gu's company and Tangqi village, is said to exemplify the "village builds, entrepreneurs operate" model, boosting rural employment and local agritourism.

"We want to expand this strawberry economy to more villages, making it a lasting success," Gu said.
