Spring in Xiaoshan has turned vibrant as the rapeseed fields at Yingfeng subdistrict's Century Farmland Demonstration Base burst into a stunning nine-color bloom.

Shades of pink, purple, white and orange blend with lush green wheat fields, creating a mesmerizing, colorful chessboard against the skyline of high-rises and high-speed trains.

The demonstration base, jointly developed by Xianghu Lab and the Xiaoshan supply and marketing cooperative, is pioneering modern agricultural innovation, focusing on multi-use rapeseed cultivation.

With peak bloom lasting until late April, researchers aim to enhance rapeseeds' colors, yield and resilience, unlocking new possibilities for urban landscapes, agritourism and food security.

The breathtaking floral display is free to visit and easily accessible by metro – offering the perfect spring escape and blending nature and technology.
