The third UNESCO High-Level Forum for Museums, being held in the historic Liangzhu area — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — underscores the cultural legacy and future vision of Yuhang district, Hangzhou, local media outlets reported.

In recent years, Yuhang has leveraged its rich heritage to fuel urban development, creating a Liangzhu Cultural Corridor that links iconic sites including the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, Liangzhu Museum, and the Hangzhou branch of the China National Archives of Publications and Culture.

Landmark projects like the newly opened Chinese Painting Anthology Museum and the immersive Song Dynasty (960-1279) painting exhibition exemplify how tradition meets technology.

At the heart of Yuhang's new urban center, major projects such as the Yuhang International Sports Center, a futuristic performing arts complex, and a 23-billion-yuan ($3.15 billion) civic complex are rising, shaping a vibrant cultural and lifestyle hub.

The ongoing development of the Two Corridors and One Axis strategy is transforming Yuhang into a cultural powerhouse. Phase one of the Liangzhu Cultural Corridor welcomed over 130,000 visitors within three months of opening. New projects are expanding the reach of culture and industry, integrating ancient heritage into games, films, and digital experiences.

As Yuhang positions itself at the forefront of cultural innovation and urban renewal, centuries-old traditions are becoming the foundation for Hangzhou's next cultural powerhouse.
