The "Hi China! My Story" event kicked off in Hangzhou's Yuhang district on May 10, bringing international students from countries like Yemen, Zambia, Iran, and the Netherlands together with Chinese youth to explore China's ecological and cultural transformation.

Guided by the philosophy of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", participants visited villages such as Luniao, Baizhang, Cangqian, and Pingyao.

In Luniao, they walked through tea fields, explored immersive eco-tourism projects like Lexigu Valley, and experienced traditional pear syrup production. "From fruit to sugar, the process reflects rural innovation," said an Iranian student, impressed by how local resources are being turned into high-value products.

At Baizhang, China's first village of rural museums, the group visited museums on farming, bamboo, comics, and textiles. Hands-on experiences like crafting peach blossom fish ornaments deepened their appreciation for Chinese intangible heritage.

In Cangqian, the group met Nikk Mitchell, a Canadian entrepreneur behind a leading VR firm. His story of starting a business in Hangzhou taught participants about the city's openness and innovation.

Finally, in Pingyao, participants strolled the ancient street and explored the intangible heritage block, where crafts like umbrellas, embroidery, and shadow puppets have been revived with modern designs. "These ancient skills blend history with creativity," said a Latvian student.

Launched by the Rainbow Life Studio, the ongoing "Hi China" program invites young foreigners to engage with China's modernization story and share it globally through cultural exchange and storytelling.
