Hangzhou-based Roleds Technology has won the 2025 Red Dot Product Design Award for its pioneering outdoor distributed glasses-free 3D projector, marking another milestone for the firm, whose overseas revenue has grown by an average of 30 percent annually over the past three years.
Founded over two decades ago, Roleds has evolved from traditional lighting into cutting-edge projection systems and is now operating in over 50 countries. Its innovative, modular 3D projectors have overcome common challenges associated with outdoor use and complex urban architecture, offering lightweight, energy-efficient alternatives to conventional equipment.
From lighting up the G20 Summit and Asian Games venues to high-profile global projects like Milan Expo and Spanish stadiums, Roleds' global reach is built on technological innovation and diversified market strategies across Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
The firm is also expanding in emerging sectors, including smart city lighting and cultural tourism. Projects like immersive tunnel lighting in Yantai and night economy upgrades in cities such as Hangzhou and Chengdu showcase Roleds' ability to tailor solutions to different urban scenarios.
Despite global uncertainties, Roleds continues to scale up production and invest in R&D, with strong support from the local government. Its story reflects the resilience and ambition of Zhejiang's private sector in driving new-quality productivity and sustainable growth through innovation.
