Ethnic treasures from Russia on display in Hangzhou

An exhibition featuring over 200 pieces of Russian jewelry and clothing from the 18th to 20th centuries opened at the West Lake Museum in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on May 18.
A key event of the 2024-2025 China-Russia Cultural Year, it marks the first time that these treasured artifacts from the Russian Museum of Ethnography have been displayed in Hangzhou.
The exhibition highlights the aesthetic characteristics of nearly 40 ethnic groups and showcases the typical cultural heritage of various regions of Russia, as well as cultural exchanges along the Silk Road.
Visitors can admire Russian accessories noted for their harmonious colors and melodious lines, grand Siberian products, Central Asian jewelry known for its striking multi-color combinations and dynamic shapes, intricate patterns crafted by Caucasian artisans, and the gold and silver wirework of Volga River jewelers.
The exhibition will last till Sept 1.
