Looking for a scenic getaway this Dragon Boat Festival? Head to Xianqiao Cave in Shuangpu town, Xihu district, where lush bamboo forests, dreamy mist, and dramatic sunlight create a real-life Emerald Forest.

Part of Lingshan scenic area, Xianqiao Cave is one of Hangzhou's top karst wonders. Known for its cool climate and arched cave entrance that looks fit for immortals, it's a long-time summer retreat for locals — now attracting up to 2,000 daily visitors.

This year, Xianqiao Cave has unveiled its upgraded 2.0 version. The revamped site blends natural beauty with trendy touches: Hydrangea-lined paths, new floral landscaping, and even a cave cafe. The popular "Tyndall effect" light beams — best captured between 11:30 am and 3 pm — have drawn a surge of younger visitors seeking Instagram-worthy shots.

Beyond photo ops, guests can enjoy floral-decked boats, shaded rest areas, and thrilling outdoor activities like rafting and jungle adventures. Whether you're sipping coffee among the trees or cooling off in the karst cave, Xianqiao offers a serene escape from the city heat.
