Construction on the Xin'an River Grand Bridge — China's largest span cable-stayed bridge with a short tower and no crossbeam — was completed on June 4, marking a key milestone in the Jinhua–Jiande High-Speed Railway (Jinjian HSR) project.

Spanning 885.2 meters with a 216-meter main span, the bridge features a Y-shaped tower design — a first for East China's high-speed rail. Located in Jiande, the bridge integrates engineering innovation with the surrounding natural landscape.

Built amid complex geological conditions and adhering to strict environmental standards, the project adopted advanced technologies such as 3D depth mapping and real-time environmental monitoring to minimize ecological impact on the Xin'an River, a key water source for the Yangtze River Delta region.

The 64.5-kilometer Jinjian HSR connects Jinhua to Jiande and links with the Hangzhou–Huangshan HSR. Designed for speeds up to 250 km/h, the line includes four stations and is expected to complete major construction by year-end. Once operational, it will boost regional connectivity, tourism, and economic development, serving as a vital part of the Huangshan–Jinhua railway corridor.
