The Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University hosted a vibrant open day event on June 14 that attracted thousands of students and parents eager to explore opportunities in cutting-edge fields such as aerospace engineering and electronic information.

Over a dozen leading Chinese universities, including Tsinghua, Nankai, and Tongji, participated in the event, offering admission consultations.

Among the highlights was the debut of Beihang's newly approved Beihang INSA Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology, co-founded with the INSA Group in France. It joins the established Zhongfa Aviation Institute to offer joint undergraduate and master's programs in aerospace, biomedical engineering, computer science, and more. Together, the two institutes plan to enroll 390 students nationwide this year, with 140 seats in Zhejiang.

The event showcased a strong interest in future-oriented majors. Aerospace and electronic information programs were especially popular, with many students like Huang from Xiaoshan expressing enthusiasm for fields like integrated circuits and communications.

Visitors also experienced hands-on science and tech exhibits, including drone shows, model aircraft demos, 3D printing, and interactive displays from 20 major research platforms. Beihang's new aerospace pavilion, featuring full-scale aircraft models and immersive 3D exhibits, was a major attraction.

For many high school students, the open day was more than an information session — it was an inspiring first step toward their future careers in science, engineering, and innovation.
