The 2025 Zhejiang-Taiwan Youth Cultural Exchange event, with the tagline "Inheriting Youth Through Millennia of Intangible Heritage", was recently held in Xiamen as part of the Straits Youth Forum.

The event served as a vibrant platform for young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to deepen mutual understanding through shared cultural roots.

Focusing on parts of everyday life — clothing, food, shelter, and transportation — the forum offered immersive experiences of Zhejiang's rich national-level intangible cultural heritage items.

Young curators from the China National Silk Museum demonstrated traditional silk-weaving and guided a hands-on tie-dye session. Attendees also sampled Jinyun duck, watched the craftsmanship behind Dongyang wooden combs, and enjoyed a live performance of Jiaxing's folk countryside singing, enhanced with NFC technology to bring folk art into the digital era.

Organizers said the event's cultural experience helped participants appreciate their shared heritage. Future exchanges will continue to empower young people as stewards of traditional Chinese culture, inspiring innovation through cultural continuity.
