Several Hangzhou-based companies participated in the Zhejiang (Egypt) International Engineering Exhibition at the Cairo International Exhibition Center from June 17 to 19.
Held as a featured exhibition during Egypt's major industry trade show The Big 5 Construct Egypt, the event drew over 920 professional buyers from more than 20 countries and regions, generating $6 million in intended cooperation agreements.
Organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, the exhibition featured a unified 108-square-meter showcase of Zhejiang, which highlighted Hangzhou's strengths in infrastructure, energy, and smart technologies.
Hangzhou-based exhibitors included leading firms such as Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co of China Energy Engineering Group, JN Construction, Focused Photonics Inc, Hangzhou Water Show Culture Group, Hangzhou JF Tech, and Fulltime Robotics, who presented their innovations through product demos and technical briefings.
Egypt, a key participant in the Belt and Road Initiative, has deepened cooperation with China following a bilateral agreement signed in May 2024. With strategic projects like Egypt Vision 2030, the New Administrative Capital, and the Suez Canal Corridor underway, demand is surging for construction, energy, and smart infrastructure — opening new doors for Hangzhou's advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors.
The event underscored Hangzhou's growing role in global markets and its strong connection with Africa through Belt and Road cooperation.
