As summer approached, a special farewell unfolded in Class 102 of Xiasha No 1 Primary School in Hangzhou.
Aming, a Nigerian student who joined the class last September, was leaving China with his family — marking the end of a touching chapter in cross-cultural friendship.
Initially shy and unfamiliar with Chinese, Aming gradually bonded with classmates through shared moments — from sports victories to spring outings and daily classroom routines. Over the course of the year, he transformed from a quiet newcomer into the class's beloved "little translator".

Upon hearing of his departure, his classmates organized a spontaneous goodbye party filled with hugs, cards, and heartfelt messages. "We'll miss you!" they cried. In return, Aming left a message in fluent Chinese: "I love everyone, and I love Xiasha No 1."
In this moving farewell, the children learned a lasting lesson in friendship, diversity, and love beyond borders.
