After 10 days of intense competition, four local teams have on July 20 won tickets to the semifinals of the Hangzhou division of the ZheBA basketball tournament.
Two teams from both East and West divisions, meaning the eastern and western parts of the city, have secured their spots in the finals.
In the East division, Xiaoshan district edged out Xihu district by just two points in a dramatic final game, finishing with a perfect 6-0 record and topping the group. Shangcheng district, with a 5-1 record, claimed the second qualifying spot. The West division saw Lin'an and Fuyang districts both advance after finishing with 4-1 results.
The finals will take place at the Canal Sports Park in Gongshu district on July 26 and 27. Xiaoshan will face Fuyang, while Lin'an will meet Shangcheng, with the winners advancing to the championship game.
Xiaoshan's hard-fought win came despite injuries to key players, with team captain Li Ang returning to play through pain to help secure the victory. In the West, Lin'an overcame early struggles to defeat Yuhang district and clinch top position, while Fuyang booked its place with a convincing win over Jiande, a county-level city administered by Hangzhou.
The stage is now set for an exciting finale as the four strongest teams battle for the Hangzhou division title.
