The new Nongfa Urban Kitchen, the largest agri-themed commercial complex in Hangzhou — capital of East China's Zhejiang province — has opened at No 115 Shiqiao Road in Gongshu district, revitalizing the site of the once-familiar Old Nongdu Market.
The project not only reimagines a beloved neighborhood landmark, but also sets a national precedent as China's first agriculture-themed urban commercial complex.
Shaped like a modern granary, the massive facility spans over 310,000 square meters across eight floors — three underground and five above.
Of that, a floor space of 110,000 sq m is dedicated to retail outlets and services. It integrates fresh produce procurements, modern cold chain logistics, herbal experiences, global cuisine and leisure activities.
At the heart of the complex's nighttime economy is the Nongdu Night Seafood Market on the basement level, which draws crowds nightly with its diverse seafood offerings and lively dining scene.
