A cross-Strait media tour entitled "Revisiting the War of Resistance, Forging National Spirit" kicked off on Aug 6 in Hangzhou — capital of East China's Zhejiang province — bringing together over 20 journalists and young self-media creators from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The four-day program, marking the 80th anniversary of both China's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and Taiwan's retrocession, will visit historic sites including the Taiwan Volunteer Corps Memorial Hall, the Zhejiang WWII Surrender Memorial Hall and the Lien Heng Memorial Hall.

Organizers highlighted the shared sacrifices of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan compatriots during the war — calling the victory ironclad proof of their shared destiny.

Participants will produce reports, videos and online content to preserve wartime memories and strengthen cross-Strait bonds.

Taiwan creator Chin Li-Hsuan said the visit was deeply moving, adding that the younger generation had a duty to tell the shared wartime story so more people "understand we are one family".
