This year marks the 80th anniversary of China's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War (1939-45).

The Zhejiang Provincial Museum, together with museums in East China's Jiangxi, Fujian and Anhui provinces, has launched the special exhibition Northward! Northward! — The Red Army's Northward Anti-Japanese Advance Troops and Vanguard Division.

The exhibition pays tribute to the heroic deeds of the Red Army's advance units and the patriotism of revolutionary figures such as Fang Zhimin (1899-1935), a military and political leader of the Communist Party of China whose heroic behavior in the struggle against the Kuomintang regime has made him a model.

On display are more than 170 sets of revolutionary relics, along with historical photographs, presented through three sections — Rallying the Troops, Marching Toward the Sun and Forging Ahead.

Items include anti-Japanese declarations, leaflets, weapons and everyday utensils, each bearing witness to the wartime hardships. Among the highlights is Fang Zhimin's personal binoculars, quietly displayed as a rare and powerful relic.

Running to Oct 8, the exhibition will be complemented by academic seminars, lectures, expert-led tours and Red-themed educational programs to pass on the revolutionary spirit of the past.
