View of Xixing Bridge over the Qiantang River in Hangzhou
Hangzhou Xixing Bridge, also known as the Third Qianjiang Bridge, is a vital thoroughfare connecting Hangzhou's Xihu and Binjiang districts. Opened to traffic in 1997, it spans over 5,700 meters. Its main span is a twin-tower, double-cable-plane, cable-stayed bridge. Spanning the Qiantang River, it features an upper deck for motor vehicles and a lower deck for non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians, alleviating traffic congestion across the river. As one of Hangzhou's earliest cross-river bridges, it witnessed the rise of Binjiang New Town and remains a popular destination for residents commuting and enjoying the river views.
